Followers of Ezrah
Following the Great Quake of ‘68, a charismatic preacher named Tobias Ezrah rallied the refugees of Arcata, Eureka and Springfield. He convinced them that it was God’s Will that their cities had been destroyed, and that it was their duty to build a new society free from the sins of the past.
The city of New Opportunity was built with the promise that all men would be given a chance regardless of their background, race or religion. People flocked from all over to be a part of this community. A melting pot of cultures formed. Christianity melded with Buddhism. Even the language started to adopt Chinese, Spanish and Native American words. The town thrived while others in the region starved.
Eventually the Followers of Ezrah spread his word and two neighboring communities were built on the same principles: Harmony and Goodwill. Together these three cities represent a significant economic power which the neighboring powers of Shan Fan and the United States would like to tap into.
